Running out of a basic supply in the middle of a busy day slows every room turnaround after it. A short, shared checklist keeps the store stocked and the team moving.
The core categories
Most housekeeping stores need the same groups of products, whatever the size of the property:
- Surface care: cleaners suited to bathrooms, glass, floors and general surfaces.
- Hygiene: wet wipes, tissue and hand-care products for rooms and public areas.
- Guest replenishment: the amenities that get restocked in every room.
- Tools and consumables: cloths, liners and anything that wears out with use.
Count on a fixed day
Pick one day each week to count stock against a minimum level for each item. When anything falls below its minimum, it goes on the next order. A fixed rhythm is easier to keep than counting “when there’s time.”
Store by use, not by delivery
Keep the items used together close together, and put the fastest-moving products at the front. It saves minutes on every trolley refill, and those minutes add up over a month.
Fewer suppliers, fewer gaps
Every extra supplier is another delivery to track and another invoice to check. Sourcing several categories from one partner makes ordering faster and keeps quality consistent.
